Raphaël de Lacroix x Fanny Chu

Hi friends,

I can’t believe January is already more than half way through. The bitter cold weather has returned to Paris and lately I’ve been spending my days either struggling to get out of bed or wishing I hadn’t left. While I was home for the holidays in LA, I was lucky enough to meet up with my dear photographer friend, Fanny Chu, to collaborate on a mini shoot for my other friend, Raphael de Lacroix. The shoot was originally supposed to be a few hours in selected locations that Fanny had chosen beforehand, but since I ended up being stuck for nearly two hours in LA traffic, we lost most of the daylight that we had planned on shooting in.

Nevertheless, with Fanny’s magic touch we managed to shoot in a few locations and the final photos actually turned out quite beautiful. Hand sewn in deadstock Louis Vuitton denim, the denim set is an elevated interpretation of everyday workwear. With carefully placed pleats along the front pockets and a dramatic slit along the ankle, these are no ordinary jeans. Tailored to be long and fitted around the waist with the perfect amount of slouch everywhere else, these jeans create a silhouette that’s both effortless and iconic. A truly signature piece.

The jacket is thoughtfully constructed with an oversized pocket along the right side of the chest with a deceivingly dramatic silhouette that’s only noticeable from the side and back. Button straps in the back can be worn open or close depending on your mood. Both pieces are unisex and made to be treasured forever.

I feel so incredibly lucky to bring two of my favorite creative people together to produce a collaboration that bridges both of my worlds together. With Paris Couture Week just starting today, I am so excited to see what the luxury maisons teams have been working on and I’m curious to see what trends will stick for the upcoming season.

Currently, this look is available for purchase at Printemps du Louvre along with some of the current RTW collection. E-commerce and online experience for Raphael de Lacroix is coming soon as well.

Stay tuned,

Kiana
