Celebrating One Year of Life Abroad at Dior

Hi friends,

The weather is paris has been changing faster than a light switch. These past few weeks have been sweltering hot only to wake up to grey skies and rain this morning. I suppose summer is on its way out and it’s only a matter of time before life returns to hibernation.

This past weekend, I met up with a dear friend of mine to celebrate our one year anniversary in Paris. We both went to school together and leaned on each other for everything from school administration to discovering new social circles in Paris.

As a special treat, we decided to go to the flagship Dior store on Avenue Montaigne to taste the sumptuous desserts served at the cafe. Like so many chic, overly romantic dreamers, I am a Dior girly through and through. With Paris Fashion week coming up this month, I’m eagerly awaiting to see what Maria Grazia Chiuri will be envisioning for the latest collection.

Desserts are specially made for the Dior cafe and like all things in luxury, they are expensive. Delicious, lightly sweetened, and delicate, the desserts we shared were a brief moment of bliss. That day, it was around 90 degrees outside so I was grateful for the indoor-outdoor feel of the cafe terrace.

We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the store and took a peek inside the bookstore nearby. Maybe at this point in life I’m not in any position to buy the finest things in life but despite all the shimmering and flashy things I can’t have, I do think I have something that money can’t buy: perspective.

Dress is Free People, Bag is from my favorite Italian shop in Florence Roberta Firenze, shoes are vintage

My heart is happy and full to live a new life in Paris and despite its challenges, it’s the sense of discovery that makes me feel more alive than ever.

Bonne semaine et à bientôt,

Kiana
